2013 Year in Review

2013 was a big year RH Motorsports and Richard Harriman.  It began with Richard moving to NASCAR's Diversity Program team Rev Racing.  Taking part in over 40 races through the year in both the K&N East and Whelen All American Series.  Richard served as crew chief for the Late Model car and shared some top 5 runs along with a slew of engine issues and bad luck.  The K&N side saw Richard as car chief for Daniel Suarez.  The season started out rough while the team built communication and ended strong with the second half of the season bringing a victory, several second place finishes with a 6th place and an engine failure being the only two finishes outside the top 3 in the last 8 races.  Finishing strong landed the team a 3rd place finish in the final standing.  At the end of the year Richard found himself returning to NEMCO Motorsports to help John Hunter Nemechek for the All American 400, Snowball Durby, and the NCWTS race in Phoenix.
The year also saw RH Motorsports team up with Rick Ware Racing and AC General allowing Richard Harriman to make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut at Iowa Speedway.  The weekend was a double header for Richard as he split time between being a driver and performing his duties for the K&N race held at the track that weekend as well.  Practice did not go as planned with a broken sway bar pin causing a brush with the turn 3 wall.  The car was repaired but resulted in missing out on the second practice session.  With the setup not as desired to make a good qualifying run, Richard and the crew battled through the race making adjustments and moving up from a 39th starting spot for a 29th place finish.  "The team worked vary hard on the car to get it fixed, and we showed improvement all through the race, and our main goal was still accomplished." said Richard after the race.  NASCAR has now approved Richard to race at 1.5 mile tracks in the NNS.  "It was a busy weekend to balance my job and driving, but it was a fun experience taking part in all the drivers activities over the weekend and meeting all the fans, some I had even met before who have been cheering me on for a few years now." Richard also had to say after the weekend.
With 2013 in the books, RH Motorsports looks ahead to 2014.
